Terms and conditions of rental
1. Purpose
These terms govern the seasonal letting of the Domaine du Francillon, a furnished manor house in Sarrouilles (65600), let as a whole, for holiday accommodation only.
2. Length of stay and capacity
The length of the stay is the one set in the rental contract, and you may arrive on any day of the week. Check-in from 4 pm, check-out before 10 am.
Capacity is 15 people maximum, infants and children included. This ceiling is contractual: the insurance of the property depends on it. Exceeding it entitles the owner to end the stay with no refund.
3. Booking
Every booking enquiry receives a reply within 24 hours. The booking becomes firm once the rental contract is signed and the deposit paid.
4. Price, deposit and balance
The price is quoted per week and calculated pro rata to the number of nights. It covers the whole house, the end-of-stay cleaning, bed linen and towels. The commune levies no tourist tax, so none is due.
A 30 % down payment is made on booking, with the balance 30 days before arrival. Payment is made by bank transfer; the details are sent with the contract. The down payment binds both parties firmly: the consequences of a cancellation are governed by the schedule in article 6, which applies to both sides.
5. Security deposit
A security deposit of €1,500 is provided by cheque, no later than on arrival. The cheque is not cashed.
It is returned within 10 days of departure. Any deduction is notified in writing and supported by photographs and a quote or an invoice. The security deposit is not a cap on compensation.
6. Cancellation
Any cancellation must be made in writing. The date taken into account is the date the letter or message is received.
If the guest cancels, the following remains payable, as a percentage of the price of the stay:
· more than 60 days before arrival: nothing, the down payment is refunded in full;
· 60 to 31 days: 30 %, that is the down payment;
· 30 to 8 days: 50 %;
· 7 days or fewer, and in the event of a no-show: 100 %.
If the owner cancels, other than for reasons beyond their control, they refund every sum paid and also pay compensation equal to the amount that would have been retained from the guest had the guest cancelled on the same date. The schedule therefore works both ways.
A shortened stay, a late arrival or an early departure give rise to no refund, as the house is reserved for the whole period.
Where circumstances beyond either party’s control make the stay impossible, the sums paid are refunded less any costs actually incurred, with no compensation on either side.
Taking out cancellation insurance is strongly recommended: it alone covers personal reasons, which do not count as circumstances beyond one’s control.
7. House rules
House rules are appended to the contract. They cover in particular pool safety, the number of occupants, noise and neighbours. Signing them binds all occupants.
Pets are welcome, please tell us when booking. The house is non-smoking.
8. Insurance
The tenant must hold holiday liability insurance. Proof of cover may be requested before arrival.
9. Disputes
In the event of a dispute, an amicable settlement will be sought first: write to us at contact@domaine-francillon.fr and we answer every message. The consumer keeps the right to free recourse to a consumer mediator. French law applies.
